If you've always thought it was the sole role of Palestinians to raise their children to hate and endorse terrorism... here are some visuals from the Israeli camp. Yeah, those are most likely a gift we (Americans) gave to Israel, which they will now share with the people of Lebanon. Nice that someone took the time to write a note. (I won't share them here, but to see how the presents were received go here-http://www.sabbah.biz/mt/. It is our responsiblity as the original giftgiver.)

Writing on artillery shells may be childish, but when parents strap explosives on their children and send them off to murder and die there is no opportunity for them to grow up, mature, and see through the hate that drives the cycle of violence.

I think it would be a hard case to find any parents who actually strap bombs onto those who choose vengeful suicidal resignation in their situation. Understanding the reality of the occupied territories...assassination of fathers, mothers, children, arbitrary arrest, torture, annexation, restriction of movement, curfew, etc...is necessary to understand the pure frustration and despair that leads to the destructive actions in buses and Israeli street life by young Palestinians. My intention in posting these pictures was to balance the vision many Westerners have on innocence in the conflict. I suppose the superior morality in Israel's actions is that they can afford mass destruction with the mere push of buttons. Lucky for these children they aren't put in the situation where they actually feel no hope in any force or army to save them, and thus offer their own destruction to combat the oppression that has always been the fate of the young Palestinians choosing suicide.

There is frustration on both sides, but it does not justify excess. Suicide bombings, indiscriminate rocket attacks on civilian targets, and the use of human shields is immoral. The common tendancy to regard Israel's enemies as less than human, giving way to the ills you mention, is also immoral. Even so, Western support for Israel is not without reason, and it is not simply the result of naive innocence. Aren't Israel's ideals more in keeping with Western values than those of the terrorists? Westerners tend to feel compassion for Israelis, as they are the underdogs, surrounded and outnumbered by vast enemies that crave their destruction, but the frustrations of the suicide murderers' camp are overshadowed by the heinousnous of their deeds.

What does excess mean? I could offer numbers to show the excesses of Israeli incursions and bombings. Pick any area...Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon. To make it clear...indiscriminate attacks on on civilians, and the use of human shields are to be witnessed on both sides. What do you mean by Western Values? It is very important to define that.

So long as you label people on the side you oppose terrorist you take away any chance for them to be anything different in your mind. Could you consider for one moment that Palestinians are the underdogs in this situation? I don't know but an underdog might be one occupied by one of the most capable militaries in the world. They have been stripped of their own territorial sovereignty. You might find the term underdog alongside Israel a more than laughable matter anywhere outside the US. Israel claims for itself new enemies to be bombers every time it demolishes a home, or builds a wall, or guns down an infant. There might not be the huge shadow if the west took the time to witness these offenses.
