I am American. And I am shamed by my government. I am shamed by the indifference to Palestinian and Lebanese suffering. My national representatives have given absolute confidence to an Israeli military carrying out massacres on countless Lebanese and Palestinian communities. It's time to use our freedom America. It's time to be free from the bondage of "fair and balanced" reporting. Go here- http://www.arabvoices.net/archives/060719_190001av.mp3. Find the stories that won't be told on CNN or Fox News. I beg you. You want more look at the links on the side. Please don't bite the lies of defense. Terrorism is not reserved for small militant populations within a state. State terrorism is one of the most heinous ongoing problems in this world. Please if you aren't aware wake up to Israeli policy. Wake up to daily annexation, demolition of property, illegal arrest, indefinite imprisonment without trial, willful incursion and curfew...all this on land they do not inhabit or own. If you need documentation and number, concrete events, names, ages, etc. just ask!

It moves north once again. But please, by God, don't forget Gaza...don't forget Nablus and the West Bank which continues to be torn, perhaps more under the blanket of this new revived conflict. My American family please don't let your anti-terrorist vigor blind for you the humanity in South Lebanon. If it comes to proportion you have no choice but to side with Lebanon and Palestine. If it comes to cause and ideology, I suggest informing yourself on the historical plight of the region. I do not accept the actions of Hezbollah as justified, but I would remind you of the mirror image you will find in the Israeli military along the Lebanese border and all through the occupied territories. Neither party has a truly justified cause. The violence that has been escalated to a magnitude only conceivable with Israeli or American militaries is where we must realize there is a disproportionate use of force and rising numbers of massacres. As one who does not endorse any military resolution to conflicts I have no place condemning one and not the other. But for those with a say...meaning a country who supplies one of the key participants with over two billion dollars a year... we might at least afford critique. And that is what I see missing...eyes to see the political and military reality. Please look.
