Iran

Its about time to speak out about this. I've been holding back not wanting an outright confrontation with people concerning this issue. But hopeful patience is not always suited for urgent matters.

As Americans most of you know that you're not supposed to like Iran. It's a country full of terrorists who care nothing for the dignity and sanctity of human life. Of course it all started when they took other American's hostage in our embassy. You know that they sponsor terrorism in other nations. In fact not ten minutes ago I heard an analyst from the States declare that the latest suicide bomber in Tel Aviv was motivated not so much by the situation he faces in Palestine, but rather by hatred originating in Iran. No longer are Palestinians using violence to respond to the occupation, rather they are being bribed by "rogue states" to wage genocidal wars. Yes, indeed a nation that must surely be liberated.

I ask one question... Could for one moment the US look at itself? Could not for one moment we step aside to evaluate our own actions? Could not for one moment our history be laid before our eyes, that we might consider ourselves fallible? If you are a Christian...could not one moment be spared to take out the plank our own eyes?

I pray with each waking moment that we would see ourselves in the mirror. I am no liberal sitting waiting to be right to then laugh in your face. Politics is pointless in the face of war. I'm crying because who else is? What will be said and done in the coming months to prevent more bloodshed. What a beautiful country we have created beside our new target. Is anyone not interested in an alternative?

Terrorism is no more ideological than it is historical. We must face our wrongdoings to understand the climate we have fostered in this region. Please consider the days of Mossadegh, consider the days of the last Shah, consider the threat you are to the rest of world as the most developed military. There is a lot of responsibility in power. If you are a Christian consider Jesus on the Cross with all his power not striking back to save himself. Is power in this world really power at all?

If you have an interest in Iranian-US history please let me know. I should be able to get you a copy of a paper I wrote citing important events and themes leading to our present crisis. Please consider your role in preventing or causing more bloodshed. And help me to better understand mine. Peace.
